Giving away all of my secrets

Or maybe not.

On Sunday, September 23, I'll be giving a magic seminar at The Browser's Den of Magic. I'll be discussing the underpinnings of some of the material I've worked on over the past ten-ish years. It's not necessarily informative for the uninitiated. But it's an opportunity to talk about some of the work that for 99% of my work must be kept secret.

Tickets $20

The Grumpy Old Men of Magic

I'm pleased to announce a special appearance coming up in September at the Social Capital Theatre in Toronto. I will be appearing with Matt DiSero and the legendary Glenn Ottaway

Ottaway-Glenn.jpg

He was the host of Canada's longest running magic dinner theatre, A Little Night Magic in Toronto. He's old, he's grumpy and he's been making Canadians laugh since before just about everyone you've ever met was born. He also knows magic, so watch out! (We guarantee almost every word out of his mouth is inappropriate so consider yourself warned.)

Matt has worked with comedy greats such as Drew Carey & Jerry Seinfeld, has appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us and at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood California.

Accompanied by his trusty companion Hartnell (his pet chicken) this bow-tied bedazzler is one of Canada's national comedy treasures.

Magic Night at The Lockhart

Tonight, I'll be performing downtown at The Lockhart. This truly magical spot is the city's very special Harry-Potter-inspired bar. When it comes to magic and atmosphere, they don't mess around.

This is a strictly informal performance and completely free to attend. You can just turn up for drinks and ask to see some magic. No dress code, although if you were inclined to wear your most Harry-Potter-y outfit, that would be cool. And space is extremely limited so you are gently encouraged to arrive early.

Chris Westfall and the Porcelain Princess

My specialty has always been "magic for grownups" but I'm often asked about doing things for younger kids and for families which usually leaves me recommending my friends who do a much better job with that sort of thing.

Coming up in a few weeks at the Paper Mill Theatre in Toronto, there is a wonderful family show for kids and families. A good friend Chris Westfall has teamed up with circus artist Bella to create Chris Westfall and the Porcelain Princess. The show toured around Ontario just over a year ago and received some very nice reviews. If you're looking for an amazing and fun (and amazingly fun) family activity, it's in town for just two nights in July.
