Last week on Magic Tonight

We had a rare public performance from Ben Train. In the years (!) that I've known him, I've really only seen him perform close-up magic. So to have him up on stage for our last show of our year was a most interesting and entertaining departure.

And the best part - Ben will be back on Sunday, January 25. So if you missed your chance to see him last week, there is still hope! Tickets are available online. Readers of this blog can use the code secrets for a special discount on checkout.

The Conjuror Returns

David Ben is one of my favourite magicians alive (and I don't just say that because of the stack of incriminating photos he keeps hidden away!) After Christmas, Magicana is bringing his show The Conjuror to Soulpepper. The Conjuror was originally written by David Ben & Patrick Watson in the 90s and continues to evolve and magically reappear periodically. The run was just extended because the first ten shows were nearly sold out. So if you'd like something fun and truly magical to do during the holiday you can check out The Conjuror with the whole family. Tickets are available at www.SoulPepper.ca.

This Sunday on Magic Tonight

This Sunday's Magic Tonight features a very special guest and most dear friend; Ben Train. Ben rarely ever performs for the public. He spends most of his time consulting and creating magic for other magicians. He is the co-founder of Five Academy, which produces instructional resources for magicians around the world. He's also given numerous talks for magic societies across Canada, the US and parts of Europe. We're eager to see what super secret stuffs he's been working on! Sunday, December 28 at 7:00 PM. Come early for dinner at 6:00. Tickets are $20 online at www.magictonight.ca.

We're upstairs in the Crimson Lounge at 292 College Street right near Spadina.

CFI Canada Winter Solstice Celebration (Part 1)

Last night on Magic Tonight, we hosted a special fundraiser for CFI Canada. We celebrated the Winter Solstice with a special performance by Michael Close, and a podcast taping with David Peck. Thanks to the Centre for Inquiry for rounding up such a wonderful group of people. We set the record for the largest audience we've ever had at the show!

Magic at momondays

Monday night, I had the opportunity to perform at the Toronto momondays. This monthly gathering at the Hard Rock Cafe in Toronto features speakers on a wide range of topics. I just got to do magic. Definitely one of the warmest audiences I've gotten to perform for in recent memory - especially considering it was a packed room and it was a long event. The next event is on Monday, January 26, 2015.

Last Sunday on Magic Tonight

Fresh from his performances at the World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and special appearances in the vicinity of Broadway, we got to see Chris Mayhew's new show, Mayhew Mayhem. It was a sold out house; the largest we've had since the space was renovated to increase the seating capacity. Here are a few highlights:

We have a new show every week with different special guests. For more information and tickets, visit www.magictonight.ca. Readers of the blog can use the code secrets for a special discount online.
