The Newest Trick In The Book

Tuesday night, I’ll be appearing on The Newest Trick In The Book, a free show put on by the aptly named “Toronto Magic Company”. I’ll be appearing alongside Chris Mayhew, Harry Zimmerman and James Harrison. The show is hosted by the adorable and inventive Jonah Babins, who is inventing his own special version of English so quickly, it’s astonishing.

Thanks to Chris Ramsay out in Montreal for offering up this informative video exploring a basic taxonomy of the different types of magicians. So if you ever encounter a magician in the wild, you’ll know what you’re up against. Forewarned is forearmed.

A magic trick you can perform on yourself

The human brain is a magical thing and it’s not wired up in the most straightforward way. Here’s a trick you can perform on yourself, described by the great Stephen Fry on the BBC series QI. You could do it standing up, but seated is probably easier. Also a good idea to not be driving a car.

On Sunday, September 23, I'll be giving a magic seminar at The Browser's Den of Magic. I'll be discussing the underpinnings of some of the material I've worked on over the past ten-ish years. It's not necessarily informative for the uninitiated. But it's an opportunity to talk about some of the work that for 99% of my work must be kept secret.
