This weekend or community woke up to the news that the great Canadian comic and magician Glenn Ottaway had passed away.
Glenn had a long career in Canadian comedy. By the time i met him around 2010, he was mostly retired. But he still took the time to appear several times on my show Magic Tonight from 2013-2016. (And I know he drove a long way every single time he did it!) He was consistently funny, sharp and charming… but also loud and guarnated to offend somebody. He was also consistently kind and supportive of younger performers while still managing to be honest.
Last fall a number of us got together to celebrate his seventy fifth birthday. His wit and humour are already being deeply missed.
