From the Toronto Magic Company

Toronto has spoken! After 23 straight sold out shows,The Art of Magic is BACK! This time with full night of magic plus an interactive EXHIBIT

The Art of Magic is way more than just a show. It’s an entire evening filled with beautiful magic inspired art, and interactive magical exhibit and most importantly a secret magic show that you have to see to believe!

The Gallery

The fun begins at 6pm OR 8pm -  inside the Super Wonder Gallery. Enjoy delicious drinks while you interact with our magical art.

We don't want to give away all our secrets but you'll get to enjoy:

100+ year old magic props, world famous magic posters, and paintings and physical illusions that you get to BE IN! (You read that right!)

The Close-up Magic

During the gallery, while you're drinking, relaxing and enjoying the night - our magicians are working! 5 Magicians will be wandering around the event doing close-up magic that happens IN YOUR HANDS!

This is a chance for you to not only expirience magic, but to expirience a lot of it, right at your finger tips!

The Secret Show

At one magical moment during the night you are whisked away to a private SECRET show . This is a private show, for a small selection of the audience where you get to interact up close and personal with the magic. It's intimate, impossible, and this is magic of the highest level the way it was meant to be experienced: up close and personal. Seating for this secret experience is extremely limited and is included with your ticket to the Art of Magic show!

In order to ensure every seat in the house is a good one, only 50 tickets are available each show for this intimate theatre experience. Make sure you order yours before they disappear forever!

Oh! And did we mention that each ticket comes with a drink

Now, without further ado, let’s meet the performers:

Sawyer Bullock

Sawyer Bullock is one of Ontario’s underground magic sensations. His combination of wit and trickery has garnered him international awards, glowing accolades, and even his own television show (3 Seasons of TV Show with Rogers Broadcasting).

He’s performed at theaters across Ontario, including at TIFF, Canada’s Wonderland, and Massey Hall as well as on stages across the world (including Las Vegas, Korea, Rwanda, and the Dominican Republic).

Steve Jones

Steven Jones is a semi-professional magician from England that has been blowing audiences’ minds since 2009. His charming personality and boy-next-door looks might make you think he’s someone you can trust. You’d be wrong. Steve is going to deceive and bamboozle you in ways you won’t believe!

James Alan

James Alan proves that magic really is for grownups. Performing for over fifteen years, he has earned a reputation for producing experiences which are “thought provoking, astonishing funny and thoroughly entertaining.” For four years he was the star of his own show, Magic & Martini, which ran weekly in Toronto with over two hundred sold out performances, and his one-person show Lies, Damn Lies & Magic Tricks was featured at the Summerworks Performance Festival.

His writing and original magic have been featured in the world’s largest magic periodicals, M.U.M., The Linking Ring, Genii - The Conjurer’s Magazine, and MAGIC Magazine.

Jonah Babins - Co-founder

Jonah is a young Canadian superstar in the world of magic. He performs in hundreds of shows a year, and is the recent winner of the Alan Slaight award for Canadian Rising Star in Magic. He’s also the host of the most widely-listened to magic podcast in the world, Discourse in Magic, which has been downloaded more than a half million times by magicians all across the globe! He’s been on Penn and Teller’s Fool Us, featured in Narcity Canada, BlogTo, Breakfast Television, Toronto Star and soon you might just see him at your next event! Jonah is a rising star in the world of magic and is not to be missed!

Ben Train - Co-founder

Ben Train is an award winning mentalist who has performed thousands of shows across North America and Europe, and was recently featured on the hit show “Penn and Teller’s Fool Us”. When he isn’t on stage Ben is busy behind the scenes, producing live shows as the co-founder of The Toronto Magic Company and lecturing on his original magic to magicians all over the world. Ben has written two books and produced two DVD’s on magic, and has been the magic consultant for tv and film (including Amazon’s The Boys).

This week I will be appearing on The Art of Magic, a special magic variety night put on by the Toronto Magic Company. We take over the Super Wonder Gallery (College & Bathurst) and have a blast, bringing together diverse magical talents.

From the TMC:

The Art of Magic is more than just a show. It’s an entire evening filled with beautiful art and mind blowing illusions that’s taking Toronto by storm!

The fun begins at 730pm inside the Super Wonder Gallery. Enjoy delicious drinks and paintings from some of Toronto’s best local artists while close up magicians dazzle you with sleight of hand.

Then at 8pm SHARP the show begins, and for the next hour and a half you’ll witness professional magicians from around the world performing magic so incredible that you’ll be gasping in disbelief!

In order to ensure every seat in the house is a good one, only 65 tickets are available for this intimate theatre experience. Make sure you order yours before they disappear forever!

Due to increased demand we are repeating the same show for two nights, Wednesday and Thursday, at 8:00 PM. I’ve been informed that there are a handful of tickets left.

Also appearing are Ryan Brown, an award winning sleight of hand manipulator, and Michael Craig Francis, a multiple Guinness World Record holder.

Last week I got to take part in The Carnival of Wonders, a variety entertainment extravaganza put on by the Toronto Magic Company. Under the direction of our Ringmaster, Jonah Babins, and his trusty tamed lion, Ben Train, we had a wonderful night and things certainly got weird.

I got to do some magic alongside Fenyxfyre, James Harrison, Dick Joiner, Aaron “Massacre” Matthews, Bella Muerta and Francis Trach. I clearly missed the memo about having to wear a red blazer, but the audience didn’t seem too upset with me.

Here are some photos from the night courtesy of David Fulde.

The Art of Magic

A last-minute public appearance. I’ll be appearing on The Art of Magic along with Ben Train, Jonah Babins and The Sentamentalists. This is the fifth show in the series and all of the previous shows have sold out. So if you’re in Toronto, please join us for a night of magic & mindreading.
