We're going Dutch
This Sunday (January 26) I'll be hosting Magic at the Winchester where we have a special guest in all the way from Holland. Fritz Alkemade will be performing selections from his award winning one-man-show, Let's Go Dutch, as part of our regular show.

We will also have the significantly less Dutch Chris Mayhew who is, nonetheless, amazing. Hope to see you there.
The show starts at 7:00, but you're more than welcome to come early (~6:15) for dinner and drinks. Tickets are $20 at the door, $15 online with special discounts for groups of 5 or more.
A nice thing to share
We always begin our shows with the same announcement.
Please turn off all cellphones or set them to vibrate. Any electronic device that goes off during the show will be confiscated and smashed to bits with iron mallets.
(The iron mallets are a literary allusion - a free pair of tickets to Magic@theCage for the first person to respond in the comments with where it comes from.)
We also add the following:
Non flash photography is permitted. Weird stuff is going to happen and it belongs on YouTube and Facebook.
Recently, someone took our advice to heart, which is a good thing. Every month we take photos sent to us and add them to our own at the gallery page of Abracadabaret.com. And every month we randomly choose some of the posters and give them free tickets to an upcoming show.
Occasionally someone goes that extra light-year and we'll just give them the tickets right away. So, from JP Magic:
Magic at the Winchester is on every Sunday night at 7:00 PM, dinner @ 6:30. Tickets are $20 at the door ($15 online with special discounts for groups of five or more).
Overflowing with magic
I am completely overjoyed by the response we've had to Magic at the Winchester. In the last month we've even had a couple of shows which wound up being standing-room only. Thanks to those who have come out to support the show and to the many performers who are making the show possible.

We'll be continuing at the Winchester into the foreseeable future but we're also launching a new show.
In just under two weeks, we will be starting Magic@theCage. The Cage is a nightclub located at College & Spadina near the University of Toronto Campus while performers in the main room work in − you guessed it − a cage, there is a smaller more intimate lounge which is perfectly suited to magic. The show will follow the same format which has worked so well for The Winchester and you'll recognize many of the performers. So now there will be an option for a little bit of magic in the middle of the week.
Tickets are on sale through the Abracadabaret site with special early-bird tickets available for the weeks leading up to the show.
CP24 Breakfast
Here is the video from my appearance on CP24 Breakfast last weekend.
More information about Magic at the Winchester is available here.
If parts of it seem to be missing, that's because one of my segments was cut short because to cover a press conference with Kathleen Wynne which started ahead of schedule. So it's been removed to protect you from being confused.
Special thanks to Chris Mayhew for his video jiggery-pokery.

More Magic at the Winchester
Our weekly show, Magic at the Winchester will be returning every Sunday night to the Winchester Stage & Bar in Cabbagetown. Thank you to everyone who has come out over the past few months to enjoy live magic in Toronto. We've had a blast performing and are looking forward to more in the coming weeks.
We've had a very successful run through 2013 with eleven performances (we would have done more, but we ran out of 2013.) We've officially extended our run and tickets are available on our site for shows through the end of April!
I will be, more often than not, hosting the show as well as performing there regularly. And I'll be joined by some exceptional talents from across the GTA. We strive for a mix of magicians, mind readers and other unique entertainers. Every show is different and you're welcome to come back as often as you like.
The Winchester also offers a delicious dinner buffet ($15) as well as their fully dinner menu and bar service before, during and after the show. (We suggest arriving early, ~6:30, if you're planning to have dinner.)
Discounted tickets are available online up until 1 hour before showtime. Full price tickets available at the door, subject to availability. Cost of food and drink is not included with tickets. Performances are family friendly but not intended for children under twelve.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the show.
