This week on Magic Tonight

School's back and we're back. We had shows in Toronto over the summer, but this week, Magic Tonight returns to the Franklin House in Streetsville — a wonderfully historic and genuinely haunted venue — on Thursday nights. Our first show back with Ryan Brown is already sold out. Ryan is a sleight of hand manipulator who has been recognized in recent years with the Toronto's Best Magician Award, first place in Mississauga's Got Talent (how he can be eligible for both without moving has baffled the greatest legal minds in the country) and the Len Cooper Memorial Award.

And this Sunday, at the Crimson Lounge in Toronto, we have the star of Illusions of Grandeur, the new television magic series currently airing Friday nights on CityTV, Zack Mirza. This show has a very limited number of seats remaining.

Magic Tonight Gets Snap'd

Our show was refigured recently in SNAPd Magazine (or just SNAP, depending on exactly which edition you're reading). They're a free print and online publication which covers the GTA by region. Magic Tonight was featured this month in both the Mississauga North and the College editions.

Live magic and fine dining were combined for an unforgettable night out, hosted by sleight-of-hand performer James Alan.

The magicians , James Alan, and special guests Michael Close and Matt DiSero performed an astonishing show from magnificent mind readers, to hilarious comedy magicians to breathtaking illusionists (sic). Guests enjoyed this magical night with delicious gourmet dining.

Last week on Magic Tonight

What wonderful audiences we had at the show. Things were certainly feeling festive as the GTA got into the spirit for Pride. Sunday in particular was an extra-fabulous rendition of the show. Although it was raining through most of the day, it didn't make things any less festive. There is a bit of backstory. A few months ago, one of the servers at the Crimson Lounge where we host Magic Tonight in Toronto, fixed me with a steely glare and warned me that when Pride rolled around, i was not going to get away without some serious sparkles and glitter. Of course, you don't really have to ask me twice, but I figured I'd play hard to get just for the sport of it.

And the incredibly tall (and I suppose honorarily fabulous) Brian Roberts did a fantastic bit of classic magic-ing at the Franklin House in Mississauga.

This week is our final show at the Franklin House in Streetsville before we break for the summer. Don't worry - we'll be back in September; tickets are now available online. We a special guest who has been on the show many times before - Canada's tallest magician and an exceptional virtuoso sleight of hand performer, Brian Roberts. On Sunday, at the Crimson Lounge downtown, we have the mysterious Lukas Stark. We'll be continuing in Toronto through the summer with shows every week. It's getting warmer, and the shows continue. If it keeps going like this, I may have to start doing the show in shorts. (Trust me when I say that no one wants to see that.)
